With the growing emphasis on the job planning process, there is a need to have more reliable information and a simpler way to keep ever changing conditions up to date. To ensure all workers are aware of these changes as they happen, we will learn how technology can be used to create a more reliable resource for electrical safety programs.

Residential code requirements were expanded in the 2020 National Electrical Code to include installation of a first-responder emergency service disconnect, surge protection, new requirements for standby generators, countertop receptacle spacing, Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters and expanded GFCI requirements. This class will explore the requirements of these new rules including branch circuit requirements, services, grounding and sub-feed panels.
